Clayton is a distinguished honorable alumni of the Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Georgia. His time at the academy instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and integrity, values that have guided him throughout his life.

Growing up as the son of a Marine Corps fighter pilot, Clayton experienced early on the tragedy and shame of what has been described as the second biggest cover-up in history. His resilience and determination led him to share his story in "Scouts Dishonored", shedding light on the abuse within the Boy Scouts of America.
